Jesse Flaherty

Area Director

Jesse Flaherty grew up in Oceanport, New Jersey, with two FCA staff parents and four older siblings. He played football at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY, and began working full-time for Greater Fairfax North FCA in the fall of 2019. He served as an Area Representative for about two years until he accepted the Area Director position in 2021. Jesse lives in Herndon, Virginia, with his wife Samantha, who is a 4th grade teacher.

Jesse is passionate about the gospel of Jesus Christ and his desire is to see Jesus transform the hearts and minds of athletes and coaches. As someone who grew up in an FCA family, Jesse has seen and felt the incredible impact of this ministry. God has specifically used FCA to transform his heart, deepen his faith, and give him a platform to lead others into a relationship with Jesus.

His prayer is that coaches and athletes in the Greater Fairfax North area will use their influence in their community to glorify God and make disciples.

Kelsey Meins

Area Representative

After attending Trinity Christian School in Fairfax, Va for 12 years going to college at Georgia Southern to play volleyball left a spiritual hole in Kelsey’s life. After 2 years she felt the Lord leading her to Emory University and little did she know it was to encounter the ministry of FCA. The Lord blessed her with amazing leaders who empowered her to be a leader on her campus.

She participated in the FCA Encounter internship in Atlanta, Ga for college athletes in 2020 and served as the female intern leader there in 2021. Kelsey was honored to serve the Marshall high school FCA as a volunteer in 2021 leading to applying to come on staff in 2022 to serve Arlington County.

Kelsey is passionate about bringing rest to the athletes living in the busy lifestyle of the city and empowering female athletes to be intentional and vocal about sharing their faith and life with their peers.

Josh Yagel

Prospective Staff

Josh grew up in Olney, MD, as the youngest of five children in a pastor's family. His passion for football led him to play at Bridgewater College, where he developed a love for the game. After his college football career, Josh transitioned into coaching to mentor and inspire young athletes. Since 2019, Josh has been dedicated to shaping the lives of students and athletes at Centreville High School as a coach, teacher, and volunteer FCA club sponsor. In the spring of 2024, Josh felt God's call to step into full-time ministry with FCA. Josh currently resides in Haymarket, VA, with his wife, Ashley, and their son, Parker.

Josh is passionate about pursuing FCA's mission to minister TO and THROUGH the coach. As a coach himself, Josh has been struck by the amount of influence that coaches have on the rising generation. If we can reach every coach with gospel of Jesus Christ and equip them to better use their influence on athletes for Christ, Josh believes that we will see a revival in the sports culture in America and throughout the world.

Josh's prayer is that athletes and coaches will get to experience truly abundant life through relationship with Jesus Christ as they navigate the challenging waters of our current sports culture.
